Brightest is a modern, integrated software platform for event management, planning, promotion, and campaigns that includes the ability to compose and send emails (and texts). Sometimes we get asked "how does Brightest compare to Action Network?" and the answer we usually give is "it depends" based on your goals and needs.

If we can be honest for a second, we're happy Action Network exists but, personally (and we know we're not the only ones), find it very challenging to use. In fact, having to use Action Network early in our organizing career was a helpful reference for what we wanted Brightest to be and how we wanted it to be simpler, friendlier, and different.

Overall, our view is Action Network is a solid email system, and if your main focus is email and you have complex needs there you may want to stick with Action Network. However, if you're looking for a more accessible, user-friendly, multi-purpose organizing tool (that sends emails and texts), we have a great alternative. A lot of organizers are very happy they switched to Brightest.

For organizations and organizers with complex email needs, we can also sync contacts and event signups from Brightest into Action Network via Zapier webhook, and some campaigns and social justice organizations use Brightest and Action Network together.
