What

The Accelerator YMCA has a Transitional Housing Program that hosts young people who are transitioning out of foster care and/or homelessness. We have six single-family Shared Homes located across king County, in addition to our Young Adults in Transition (YAIT) building which houses 20 studio apartments in Downtown Seattle.

We're looking for volunteer groups to provide Holiday meals for YAIT and our Shared Homes throughout the months of November and December. Volunteers are welcome to commit to a one-time donation and/or multiple donations throughout the Holidays.

Food:

  • Food can be purchased or prepared. Provided food needs to include food labels and options that accommodate common dietary restrictions (i.e. vegetarian options).
  • If you are cooking the food, we can host up to 12 at our Resource Center in our provided commercial kitchen and/or at another YMCA branch location. If you cook the food remotely, at least one person must have a valid food handler's card.
  • YAIT: 20 people
  • Shared-Homes: 6 people/house
