The Arizona Caregiver Coalition is accepting volunteers to work on a telephone help line. We help family caregivers make informed decisions to better care for a family member.
More and more families find themselves in caregiver situations and need community support to meet their many challenges and responsibilities. Our volunteers and staff provide information, attentive listening, and friendly support.
That's where the Caregiver Advocate volunteers come in. They are stabilizing forces and sounding boards. We provide training to become more knowledgeable about caregiving issues and concerns. Then, in turn, you can discuss various options with the caregivers. These conversations can empower the caregivers to set priorities and make thought-out decisions. A variety of positions are available M-F. Times can be flexible between 9 am and 5 pm, with a shift of 3-4 hours weekly and a 6 month commitment. We provide free training and we have a seasoned volunteer/staff sit with you until you are ready to be on your own.

Ideal for someone who has been (or knows others who have been) caring for a family member, but this is not required.
