What

Saturday, August 22 will be a national day of action in support of the The US Postal Service (USPS). Palo Alto will gather safely outside the Post Office on Hamilton Ave at 11 a.m. to make our voices heard: we need to save the post office from Trump and Postmaster General Louis DeJoy must resign. Bring signs, wear a mask, be sure to social distance, and please be respectful of our mail carriers and postal employees. Post your group or protest on social media with hashtags #SaveThePostOffice and #USPSProtest.

Why are we protesting? The USPS is currently under attack, jeopardizing mail-in voting, prescription and paycheck delivery, and public jobs. Currently the USPS needs more funding, but President Trump and Senate Republicans are blocking pandemic and economic stimulus that includes funding for USPS in an attempt to sabotage voting-by-mail in the 2020 election. We need the USPS, it's an essential public function underwritten in the Constitution, and this is an urgent problem, so let's take action.

If you're looking for other ways to support the USPS, please read and share our USPS help guide.
