What

While N95 and medical masks are recommended for all medical professionals, due to the current widespread mask shortage, many community organizations, including homeless shelters and food kitchens (as well as individuals) must rely on DIY cloth masks for protection and are in need of more masks. If you're able to make or sew DIY masks in NYC, we can help connect you to local organizations who would like to use your masks to protect their workers and communities.

If you need a mask-making tutorial, you can watch one here and here. If you've never made masks before please make sure to study up first.

Please also read the CDC's guidance on cloth masks here and here.

Note: this is an opportunity for people in or near NYC or New York who can make masks. If you want to make masks and live somewhere else, please contact us here so we can connect you.

Remember, homemade masks are not a substitute for social distancing and staying in. Please stay safe.
