Care for Friends is looking for a licensed Social Worker to oversee a drop-in session for homeless and vulnerable people at our 530 W Fullerton Parkway location. The session will take place every two weeks from Monday, December 10th at 1 pm. Time for guests will be held following a free lunch to check-in and informally talk about concerns or recent experiences (positive or negative). Guests will be encouraged to participate in the discussion as they feel comfortable and may come and go during this time.We are looking for a candidate who has relevant qualifications, experience, and licensing in order to undertake this task. Ideally the post-holder will be able to commit to carrying out the session regularly, in order to provide consistency for the guests. And ideally the post-holder will be able to mingle with the guests at the lunches to build connections and to encourage attendance at the drop-in session. There is no compensation for this positionThis is a great opportunity to work in a safe environment with people in Chicago that really need your support and time. We are interested in hearing from people with relevant experience. There will be ample opportunity to discuss the position with stakeholders in the Care for Friends community before you begin.
