Communicare provides volunteer help to isolated Center City Philadelphia older adults of all faith backgrounds who are in need of friendship and support. Communicare offers companionship and social connection as well as help with everyday tasks; like grocery shopping, so that elders can live independently within our community. Communicare is one of the programs run by Community Outreach Partnership, a mission of Episcopal Community Services and Trinity Memorial Church
Urgent! At least 5 superheroes needed! Volunteers are the backbone of Communicare. Communicare volunteers give the gift of friendship to those in need. A Communicare volunteer is friendly, engaged and passionate about helping others. A volunteer is matched to a specific senior based on interests, talents and personalities. A typical volunteer day might be play a card game with your new friend, go for a walk, watch a movie or discuss current events. We ask a volunteer to give about 2 hours a week.
