In the coming weeks of 2019, Senators Kamala Harris and Representative Pramila Jayapal will be reintroducing the Detention Oversight Not Expansion (DONE) Act. The law puts a moratorium on the expansion of U.S. immigration detention, dramatically cuts bed capacity, and requires the use of community-based alternatives to detention.

This is a significant piece of legislation and Freedom for Immigrants (and Brightest) would like your help sharing the news when it is reintroduced.

A campaign ask if any of you you would like to send in photos of yourself carrying a sign that reads "I am #DONEWithDetention” and if you’d like to/can, please send me a sentence or two explaining this. For example, “I am #DONEWithDetention because no one should be separated from their family as a result of punitive immigration laws.”
