Join us on April 22nd, Earth Day 2020 for the Austin Earth Day climate strike and rally. On April 22, 1970, millions of people took to the streets for the first Earth Day, to demand a cleaner, healthier environment, which led to the creation of the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts. On April 22, the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the US Climate Strike Coalition is launching three consecutive days of strike actions to call on all young people and adults to join as we take our movement to the next level. With the November elections approaching, 2020 is a critical year for climate action. We must mobilize and use our voice and our vote to demand our leaders take action to address the climate crises. Each day of the strike will have a varying focus to ensure our message is heard at every level.
