UPDATE: WHILE WE STRONGLY BELIEVE IN EARTH DAY AND THE IMPORTANCE OF URGENT CLIMATE ACTION, KEEPING EVERYONE SAFE AND HEALTHY FROM CORONAVIRUS AND LIMITING LARGE PUBLIC GATHERINGS TO FLATTEN THE CURVE AND LIMIT SOCIAL SPREAD IS A TOP PRIORITY FOR US AND THE ORGANIZERS AND ORGANIZATIONS HOSTING. WE ASK YOU PLEASE USE CAUTION, CONTINUE SOCIAL DISTANCING, AND JOIN #CLIMATESTRIKEONLINE INSTEAD OF MARCHING. PLEASE STAY IN TOUCH FOR UPDATES. THANKS. READ OUR FULL STATEMENT HERE.

On April 22, 1970, millions of people took to the streets for the first Earth Day, to demand a cleaner, healthier environment, leading to the creation of the EPA and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts. On April 22, the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the US Climate Strike Coalition is launching three consecutive days of strike actions to call on all young people and adults to join us to call for urgent climate action now. With the November elections approaching, 2020 is a critical year for climate action and climate voting. Each day of the strike will have a varying focus to ensure our message is heard at every level.

The 50th anniversary of Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, is a day of mass mobilization. We will kick-off the three days with a demonstration of our collective power and unity with millions of young people and adults participating in thousands of Earth Day strike events across the country. On this historic day of climate action, we are centering Indigenous people and people of color, reflecting on our personal connections to the Earth, and recommitting ourselves to the movement.

Join us for day one of three at 10am at City Hall and Strike With Us!
