Do you want to make a difference in the lives of girls in your community? Volunteer to Coach with Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia this Spring!

Girls on the Run is a youth development program for girls in 3rd through 8th grade that creatively integrates running. The 10 week curriculum-based program helps girls build skills to be strong, confident, and healthy. As a coach, you'll be trained to guide small teams in practice twice a week. You'll lead your team of girls in valuable lessons and teamwork building, while working up to running a 5K at the end of the season.

Coaching a Girls on the Run team is one of the most rewarding ways to get involved with GOTR NOVA. Coaching provides a first-hand experience of the program and a sense of accomplishment, knowing that you have made a difference in the lives of the girls on your team.

At Frederick Douglass Elementary School, we are in need of one Assistant Coach! This team practices on Tuesdays and Fridays from 2:30-4:00PM.If you are interested in volunteering or learning more, please contact Meagan Perkins at mperkins@gotrnova.org.
