March for Science San Francisco, Earth Day, and the youth climate movement are joining forces for a science, education, and climate march through downtown San Francisco on the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, April 22nd, 2020. The rally will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Justin Herman Plaza; the march will begin at 12:30 p.m. and go up Market Street toward Civic Center Plaza. The Earth Day festival will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Civic Center Plaza.

On April 22, 1970, millions of people took to the streets for the first Earth Day, to demand a cleaner, healthier environment, which led to the creation of the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts. In 2020, a critical election year, now is the time to make our voices heard to demand climate action and respect for science, education, and facts.
