TITLE
: Program Coordinator

HOURS OF SERVICE: Full-Time

DURATION: August 2018 - June 2019

LOCATION: Franklin High School and Passion Impact Office

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The primary function of the Program Coordinator will be to run programs with Franklin High School students through partnership with SUN community school as well as facilitate Volunteer Events and Monthly Reflections that focus on empowering students to chase their passions through community service.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED TASKS:

  • Create content to run programs
  • Recruit, train, and empower students to become independent volunteers by leading after school programs
  • Collaborate with teachers, nonprofits, partners, parents, volunteers, and the PI VISTA member to increase service learning opportunities
  • Organize and run Volunteers Events and Monthly Reflections
  • Build better relationships between schools and families
  • Communicate with the administration to identify students for recruitment to programs
  • Track attendance, GPA, and community engagement of students in programs
  • Track volunteer recruited and trained who assist in programming
  • Manage a volunteer incentive system
  • Promote program impacts to internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in Campus Compact Connect2Complete trainings, including orientation, monthly webinars, in-service trainings, graduation, regional cohort meetings and others as available
  • Engage in personal reflection and self-care

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AA or BA/BS degree preferred
  • Ability to partner well with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills
  • Basic office computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet management
  • Program management (marketing, event planning, training, volunteer management) experience.
  • Strong initiative; self-starter; strong entrepreneurial spirit; and resourceful
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and implement creative solutions to problems
  • Enthusiasm for helping others succeed
  • Willingness and openness to engage in conversations about racial justice, equity, and racism

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Academic knowledge of critical theory and race relations in the United States
  • Experience applying an equity lens
  • Service or work with high school students
  • Volunteer experience with an array of nonprofits focused of varied issue areas

AMERICORPS C2C BENEFITS:

  • Living stipend of $12,630 (distributed over 10.5 months)
  • Education Award of $5,815.00 upon successful completion of service
