About RLC:

Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) helps the hungry by rescuing and donating leftover food to homeless shelters. With the help of more than 8,000 volunteers, we have rescued a cumulative 3 million pounds of leftovers since our launch in 2013. RLC is looking for a paid, long-term Volunteer Recruitment Manager to recruit volunteers for this meaningful cause.

About the position:

The Volunteer Recruitment Manager will reach out to potential volunteers to recruit volunteers to rescue food from RLC partner restaurants and bring that food to the hungry at local RLC partner agencies. The goal for the Volunteer Recruitment Manager will be at least 1 Rescuer Associate per week. Rescuer Associates are individuals who volunteer with RLC for 10 pickups per week. This is a demanding yet exciting position, and we are therefore looking for a strong and passionate manager who can maintain the high expectations and is comfortable in working in a reactive, customer facing environment. This is a part-time opportunity with a full-time position opportunity within a few months if goals are met.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the end-to-end process of onboarding new Rescuer Associates including: reaching out to potential rescuers, follow up with them throughout the onboarding process, grading the training quiz, and attending volunteer food rescue events with potential lead rescuers
  • Recruiting volunteers
  • Update volunteer opportunity postings on different websites
  • Coming up with new and creative ways to promote our work and to recruit new volunteers
  • Respond to volunteer inquiries received by phone and email
  • Attending events and exhibitions to recruit volunteers
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of relevant professional experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to manage many projects simultaneously and to set priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong administrative skills and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and Salesforce

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $12.00 to $15.00 / hour
