Rfpc Volunteer Intern (quality Improvement/medical Scribe)
Aug. 1, 2019, 3 a.m. - July 31, 2020, 3 a.m. EDT
Who Are We?
The Richard Fine People's Clinic or RFPC is a primary care clinic that is part of the San Francisco Health Network. We are one of the largest clinics that serve underprivileged and vulnerable populations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our providers see around 8,000+ patients and our population is incredibly diverse and complex. We are located on the first floor of the old hospital building of Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.
Volunteer Internship
We are looking for current students (or recent grads) that have a strong interest in primary care and of serving vulnerable populations. Our past interns have either been Pre-Medical, Pre-Health Sciences, or Post-Baccalaureate students. We have two types of positions available--quality improvement (QI) and medical scribing. Our QI Interns work on various topics and metrics with our quality improvement team. Examples of topics are women's health, geriatrics, and patient advisory board. For students that want a more clinical internship, our medical scribes work 1:1 with our providers during their clinic sessions.
Requirements
We ask that all volunteers commit to a one year (10-12 month) duration and that they come in 2 days/week (8-15 hours). However, we understand that students are busy with their coursework and other academic and professional development obligations. Depending on the topic and work needed, the hours are negotiable.
How Do I Apply?
