The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) is the world's largest pre-college science fair. Think of it like the Olympics or Super Bowl of science fairs. Students 9-12 grade from 80 countries compete in their local, school, regional, state and national fairs to win a berth to compete at Intel ISEF. Many of the students already have a patent or a patent-pending and present graduate-level or above work as high school student!
General Volunteers: We need a total of 500 general volunteers throughout the week from 4-hour shift - the entire week. We will stuff 12,000 registration bags on Friday, May 10 and registration is open each day. We have events each day and will need crowd control, teach a classroom when we are open to the public on Thursday, May 16. Corral dozens of buses, work directly with the students from 80 countries by volunteering in the exhibit hall. Help them set up projects. Come for training to learn how to inspect them for safety. We have dozens of other tasks. Our volunteer site will be fully up and operational by the end of 2018 with a complete listing of the tasks. If you want the list prior, please feel free to email me at: email@example.com.
Interpreters: Since we will have students from 80 countries, we need volunteer (non-technical) interpreters in a couple of dozen languages. The largest need are in the following languages: Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Thai. Others include, but not limited to: Sinhala, Urdu, Indonesian, Filipino, Kazakh, Turkish and Vietnamese. The greatest need is Wednesday, May 15, 2019 between 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - All day would be amazing, but we will take volunteer interpreters for 4-hour shifts. 7:00 a.m. is a breakfast where interpreters and Finalists are introduced and you will get to know them. 8:00 a.m. you and the Finalist will go to the Exhibit hall and they will explain their project to you. All of the technical terms are on the project and in English, so technical language is not needed.
