Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Senator Ed Markey are introducing a joint Resolution for a Green New Deal. Congressional Resolutions live or die in the first month they are released. If resolutions get enough co-sponsors, they can become major drivers of the policy debate. If not, they can get lost in the political shuffle and fade into oblivion.

We’re calling on all Senators and Representatives to make a choice: will they support the only resolution to meet the scale of the climate crisis? Or will they condemn the millions of young people in our generation to a future ravaged by wildfires, heatwaves, and hurricanes? It’s on us to move this resolution forward by turning up the heat on our members of Congress throughout February. Here’s our plan:

STEP 1 - MAKE OUR DEMAND CLEAR (Feb 6-10th)

We’ll tweet, call, and email our Senators and Representatives relentlessly with our demand that they back AOC & Markey’s Joint Resolution for a Green New Deal now.

STEP 2 - SHOW UP (Feb 11-13th)

Show up in person at your Senators’ and Representatives’ offices and ask them to cosponsor the Green New Deal Resolution. Then, keep the pressure high by getting more and more people to call, tweet and show up in person.

STEP 3 - NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION (Feb 26th)

You have 3 targets: your 2 Senators and your House Rep. The Green New Deal won’t be won in backdoor deals in Congress. It’ll be won because millions of Americans relentlessly demanded the real solutions to the greatest crisis of our lifetimes.
