The 2018-2019 Homework Help program will offered from Sept. 10, 2018 through June 13, 2019. Volunteers support students’ success in school by helping them develop literacy and math skills, understand homework assignments, and prepare for college. Volunteers tutor students in all academic subjects and may also specialize in middle and high school subjects, such as English, math and science.
Most of the students who participate in Homework Help attend elementary and middle schools. Volunteers interact with children and teens in small groups and individually.
We request a volunteer commitment for the entire school year. Volunteers will be scheduled to provide Homework Help once a week when Seattle’s public schools are in session. Those volunteers who have variable job and/or school schedules can be scheduled as substitute Homework Helpers at least twice a month.
Below are the Homework Help volunteer shifts at the Beacon Hill Branch:
Monday, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
