Looking for volunteers to work alongside youth and older adults, with and without disabilities, to work with natural materials to create and tell stories. This is very hands on type of commitment. Arts and/or disability background would be helpful but not required. Committment to time is important.
Participants will work with professional artists through classroom settings and hands-on experience in the field. Volunteers will be immersed in every aspect of the project, from concept development to art making to filming and editing. Offer personal instruction on how to bring their vision to life. Week one is an exploration of the natural environment, with at least one field trip. We think, we write, we storyboard. In week two, we continue this exploration, but begin to storyboard and then film and record audio. Week 3 we pull it all together into pod casts, videos and more. Together, in small teams, or individuals , short visual and/or audio stories are realized and shared with their peers.
We are looking for interested individuals who have some skills they would like to bring to the project, or a novice who is just willing to help out and learn alongside our participants.
This opportunity starts on June 3, 2019, 10 a.m. and ends June 20, 2019, 4 p.m. EDT and happens once.
