We Plant Trees to Offset CO2 and Fight the Climate Crisis

We're on a Mission to Plant a Million Trees & Fund Climate Change Solutions

Plant trees in the United States and around the world starting at $1 per tree, or subscribe to plant trees monthly and offset your carbon footprint for less than a coffee a week

Trees planted through Brightest are done in partnership with The Brightest Foundation Incorporated, a registered US 501(c)(3) public charity, EIN 83-3516335, alongside our local reforestation partner network. Your contribution to plant trees and offset CO2 with us is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S law.

How Trees Absorb and Offset CO2

Trees are some of the most efficient natural carbon dioxide (CO2) absorbers on the planet, converting carbon into tree mass as they grow. Carbon content makes up roughly 50% of a tree's volume, and a single tree can offset up to 40 pounds of carbon per year1,2. Planting trees is one of the best ways to reduce or offset your carbon footprint, while also helping to fight deforestation, limit climate change3, restart water cycles, provide habitats for animals, and give vital natural resources to local communities.

Brightest's Tree Planting and Carbon Offset Projects

From Optimism (and a Little Anxiety) to Climate Impact

When we launched Brightest in 2017, we identified climate change and biodiversity protection as priority themes and began planting trees to thank our community and keep our operations net zero CO2. We also developed organizing tools that are now used by chapters of every major international climate justice group, and featured by REI, Scientific American, 350.org and others.

Now we're taking our commitment even further by supporting tree-based carbon offset projects around the world, and providing tree planting on demand as part of our mission to plant one million trees.
