Brightest is a modern, integrated software platform for in-person and virtual (remote) event management, community-building, communication, and measurement. Since we also include a "workflo CRM" for capturing, tracking, and measuring signups, we sometimes get asked "how does Brightest compare to Salesforce?" The answer we usually give is "it depends" based on your campaign strategy, goals, values, and tech stack.

Salesforce is a flexible, industry-leading CRM which offers a wide set of integrations and plugins. We've been Salesforce users and customers ourselves, and consider Salesforce an effective, well-known CRM system. Salesforce can be complex, require a lot of customization work to scale, and be expensive as your organization grows, but if you have internal technical capability for it we consider it an effective CRM tool for storing contacts and records.

By comparison to Salesforce, Brightest is specifically focused on social impact, community-building, and marketing workflows, including event management, signup forms, surveys, donations and fundraising (for non-profits and political organizations), email and text communication tools, and analytics and measurement. In other words, Brightest is system focused on reaching, engaging, and growing supporters, employees, or other community-members.

If you already use Salesforce, Brightest can serve as a workflow or communication layer, and we can be connected to Salesforce for contact data syncing via Zapier webhook or REST API. If you don't use Salesforce or another CRM, Brightest serves as a "workflow CRM" by tracking your leads, contacts, signups, and community-members and storing their information and activity. While we don't replicate Salesforce's full CRM capability, we do offer unified data storage tracking between signups, email, and other workflow areas.
